ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
Laura Grace Weldon was named Ohio’s 2019 Poet of the Year and has published three previous poetry collections. She works as a book editor, leads writing workshops, serves as Braided Way editor, and gleefully checks out too many library books each week. Her background includes teaching nonviolence, writing poetry with nursing home residents, facilitating support groups for abuse survivors, and writing sardonic greeting cards. Laura lives in a rural township too tiny for traffic lights where she hosts occasional art parties and house concerts. lauragraceweldon.com
ABOUT THE BOOK:
These pages hold praise songs to wonderments diverse as moss, mistakes, memory, even an imaginary donkey. Laura’s poems are wild and tender explorations into many realms of our universe’s marvels.
All royalties will be donated to Doctors Without Borders.
ADVANCE PRAISE:
“Laura’s poems sparkle in the way that Billy Collins or Mary Oliver’s work sparkles— full of wry and witty observations, self-deprecating humor, and gratitude for the present moment.”
~Kim Langley, coach and spiritual companion
“By the time we come to the end of a Laura Grace Weldon poem, something has been loosened within us. The stress and tightness of the day falls away in those moments, revealing our most fully human and heart-open selves, so that we can feel and remember our connection to all things. A connection Laura makes holy through the keenness of her observations, the stunning beauty of her words, and the depth of her humility and wisdom.”
~C.A. Gunn, writer
“Laura’s poems are my new Book of Common Prayer.”
~Elizabeth H. S. Beasley, Quaker hospital chaplain
“To wake up your senses and come home to yourself, try this daily practice:
1. Make something, 2. Sing, 3. Read a poem by Laura Grace Weldon.”
~Iesha Jackson, nurse and urban rewilder
