Sheila-Na-Gig Editions: Call for Poetry Manuscripts: July 1-31, 2024

Sheila-Na-Gig Editions invites submissions of full-length poetry manuscripts for publication in 2025 and 2026.

Please follow the guidelines below:

• Submit a full-length poetry manuscript (60-100pgs — not including front and back matter) via Submittable. Manuscripts will not be considered via email or snail mail.
• Poems may be previously published in journals or online if you own the rights for reprints.
• Simultaneous submissions accepted. Please notify us immediately if your manuscript is accepted elsewhere. Reading fees are not refundable.

• DO NOT include a bio or formal cover letter.
• DO NOT include an acknowledgments page for previously published work. If your manuscript is selected for publication, you may send along this information later.
• DO NOT include your name ANYWHERE on your manuscript or in the Submittable title of your submission. Submissions that reveal authors’ identities will be disqualified without notice, and fees will not be refunded.
• NO NOT include poems that have been published by Sheila-Na-Gig online. If your manuscript is selected, you may reinsert poems we have published (even if this goes over the page limits noted above).

• The selected manuscripts will be published by Sheila-Na-Gig Editions. For sample volumes, check out https://sheilanagigblog.com/shop-sheila-na-gig-editions/
• Authors receive 50% royalties on book sales
• Authors receive 25 copies of the published manuscript (and 55% discounts on future orders). Authors are never required to purchase copies.

• THE READING FEE: $20.00
• THE SUBMISSION PERIOD: July 1-31, 2024
• THE REVIEWERS: The manuscripts will initially be reviewed by Sheila-Na-Gig Editions authors (well-respected poets who have published collections with Sheila-Na-Gig Editions). Hayley Mitchell Haugen, Founder & Editor, will make the final selections.
• RESPONSE TIME: We will strive to make final decisions on or before December 31, 2024.
