tragic, but intact.
Dead-scented flowers
atop naked stems stiffened
by violent silence, begging
for a clash-clang bell
of disruption.
The limp leaves arranged
themselves on the ground below,
an elegant garden table
destined for minty teas served
with the cheer of a cloudy day,
hands poised circular around the cup.
Every living person
is delivered to death
by their mother.
The staccato rain
falls all day insisting
I pay attention.
