Brandon Witmer is a current undergraduate student at Ohio University. He is working toward two degrees: a bachelor’s degree in English through OU’s Honors Tutorial College and Adolescent-to-Young-Adult Integrated Language Arts Education through OU’s Patton College of Education. Given this, it is no surprise that he is a big reader. He loves a good thriller, but he is a sucker for the classics. Something about the literary merits of classics, like Of Mice and Men, reminds him why he enjoys reading: to make sense of the world and help mold his morals. In his free time, he turns to creative writing to do the same. Although he enjoys crafting novels, he dabbles in the poetry scene.

In the event of a school shooting, teachers

In the event of a fire, teachers
should be the last to leave the school.
In the event of a fight between students, teachers
should jump in the brawl until all students
are separated. Keep an eye out for more bullies.
If a gunman is found in the hall, teachers
should turn off the lights that are visible
outside the classroom. Near the door, for instance.

instructor says, “So you can reassure students.”
Teachers should flash their pearly whites and remain calm.
