song

i swallow the organs / and spit up hummingbirds
               i hum a bluefeather / and kill a garden
i grow a testament / and excise a lie
the trees hang in torment / under bluesky
never are the pains throated / with joy
inside the singing i try / to remember ease
the body which carries aches / and protects
i am not the shells / nor the broken bulbs
i remember that god is a light / inside grief
smashed glass and ants / glint and bite
a humming in the torment / a torrent of promises
joy a singing in ash / a costume for nausea
little wings spit music / as a consolation
when i watch the living / i remember to breathe
not much separates the maggot / from the fly
when i consume the eucharist / blue bottles sing
and the dead wings inside me / flutter
