Serving Suggestion

The serving suggestion portion
of the cracker package is always
so aspirational:

               I can read about
this pretzel thin being made into
the base for a smoked
salmon mousse
or that graham cracker
being the crust for
a “one bite pie”.
Preserved eggplant slices
and a bit of burrata, garnished
with oregano across
a pita crisp,
or warm brie and
marmalade on mini-toast.
Individual seven
layer dip
assembled on
a tortilla chip.

                              All this like
I’m not reading this pantsless, high as fuck
in the kitchen while I eat fistfuls
of these crackers without trimmings
as I diligently study the box.
