ABOUT THE BOOK: Native Fruit is bursting with poetry and fine art inspired by one of the region’s most intriguing plants. The pieces in this collection are full of childhood memories, history, social metaphors and halting beauty. Not many fruits evoke a mystery and cult-like fervor quite like the pawpaw. This collection is for anyone who has savored our beloved custard-apple or those who have spat it right out. Although the pawpaw has successfully evaded society’s propensity for mass-production, its grasp on those who know it is captured in the pages of this delightful book.
