NO SUBMISSION FEE — SUBMIT April 1- May 31 (11:00 PM EST)

Sheila-Na-Gig Editions is currently seeking poetry from BIPOC voices (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) for AMPLIFY,  an anthology curated by Toledo, Ohio, poet Sandra Rivers-Gill. This anthology will exhibit powerful, provocative, poetry that amplifies and speaks to the personal experience. We are looking for poems that resist, bear witness to, prompt and inspirit, hope and affirm; poems that honor and celebrate. We love well-crafted poems with excellent imagery and a strong sense of voice. Our bias leans toward free verse, but we are open to traditional forms as well.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES:

  • Submit up to THREE previously unpublished poems as a single file (.doc, .docx) via the Submittable link below.
  • Include a brief bio: 50-100 words
  • The 6×9 anthology margins accommodate 4.25 inches width of text space. Overflow lines will be indented on the next line.

Simultaneous submissions are accepted. If you need to withdraw submissions, please just add a “Message” through Submittable. If you write a “note” in Submittable, editors don’t see these. Please do not ask to EDIT submissions while they are under review. If your work is accepted, you may make minor changes at that time if necessary.

  • Work that is racist, homophobic, sexist, or includes hate speech of any kind will not be accepted.
  • Please do not send us AI-generated work.
