Earbuds
Start the night on
our respective sides,
but after hours
inside pockets,
we are coiled
not knowing
whose wires begins where.
In some places,
I feel cold
from your body
shorting currents
in my appendages
while I’m warm
from the static when
we writhe together
jockeying for cloth.
Apart from being
uncomfortably hot,
I enjoy the sounds
of our soft rustling
this Saturday morning.
